Brunswick Zone combines tried-and-true bowling traditions with special promotions to attract all ages. “Our goal is to make Saturday night ‘bowling night in America,’” says General Manager Dennis Lockhart. “On Friday and Saturday nights, we turn the lights down and the music up, and bring out the black lights and the fog machines to create a high-energy music and dance environment. We have dance contests, a full bar and a full lane-side menu. Young adults especially like the atmosphere because it keeps them engaged.”
Originally opened in 1989, Brunswick Zone has been a mainstay for Cobb bowlers, particularly those interested in league play. “Some leagues have been together for years; other new teams are forming as well,” Lockhart says. “League bowling is a fun way to meet new people and socialize.” When someone bowls a perfect game of 300, everyone celebrates. “We give them immediate recognition, announcing it on the public-address system and presenting them with a commemorative shirt,” he adds. “They’re also recognized nationally by the U.S. Bowling Congress.”
Brunswick Zone’s full bar features six different draft beers and more than a dozen bottled beers, five choices of wine and six signature beverages, including a Tiki Mai Tai, Long Island Iced Tea and Watermelon Mist. On Friday and Saturday nights, wanna-be entertainers take part in karaoke.
